Reentry Success DC started in 2018 as a collaboration between the GEO Group and the National Federation of Federal Employees (an affiliate of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers). The program enhances the GEO Group’s pre- and post-release services by connecting returning citizens to gainful employment. Reentry Success DC is available to every Continuum of Care participant that completed a sentence at the Rivers Correctional Facility in North Carolina and is returning to Washington DC.

“As far as I know, this is the only one in the world, in the private sector that I know of where all the parties, third parties, government, union, the facilities, the company, are all working together to make this happen. Everybody’s in it a hundred percent. And the commodity is to get great jobs for good people in second chances.”

Roosevelt Littlejohn, National Business Representative of the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE)

“The Re-entry Success DC program is a very valuable contribution to reintegration of men and women coming home from prison in the District of Columbia. The investment that the Rivers Correctional Institution is making post release is a phenomenal benefit, because first it isn’t something that they’re obligated to do, but yet it’s something that can ensure people have at least an opportunity to get started in a stable way, and ultimately I think be more successful in re-integration.”

Cedric Hendricks, Acting Deputy Director of the Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA)
